I have used SONAR (and earlier versions of Cakewalk) to exchange banks with the VZ-8m. You can set up DMRs (Dump Request Macros) in SONAR according to the VZ sysex bulk dump format. Or you can set SONAR to receive the dump when triggered from your gear.

I know you can transmit from the buttons on the VZ-8m, so I assume you can do it with the VZ-1. You do have to set up the VZ to transmit and turn off memory protect.

If you have SONAR already, it is easy to do.

View --> Sysex --> c --> You start dump on instrument.

n will let you name the sysex bank in SONAR.
o will load a sysex bank file into SONAR
v will let you save a sysex bank file to your PC

Somewhere either here of in the main CZ User group there are tips for setting up the VZ to send and receive.

Write more if you need help figuring out how to do it.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
