Bonjour Laurent!
Have a little more patience with the VZ...
I had the same impression when I first bought mine a couple years ago (after using a CZ-1000, cz-5000, and CZ-1 for over 10 years). I was frustrated by the sound timbres being less diverse than the CZ, and harder to program.
Finally one weekend I just sat down and locked myself in my room with my VZ, the manual, a few beers and just dove in programming. After a frustrating start, I finally started to appreciate it a lot more and gain a better understanding for its potential. By the end of the weekend, I was thoroughly impressed.
Now, do I think it's still a trouble to program? Yes, and I admit I will reach for the CZ-1 before the VZ-10 when I want a certain PD type of sound, but, hey, I only paid about 80 euros for it, so I still consider it a bargain. For me, it does have a level of programmability and nuance the CZ-1 just doesn't have...but it takes an investment of time that sometimes makes it seem more trouble than it's worth.
As for finding cheap cards, I have no suggestions.
Bonne chance,
Wadrad

Hello,

I own CZ synths since 1992 (first a 101, exchange for a 5000 and then
a 1 that I always use) and I do like the sound they produce.
I recently bought a VZ-10m and I am a little bit disappointed. Sounds
are not really different (even with FM), programing is more complex
and the big but only one advantage comparing to CZ serie is the
layering of the sounds. Ram cards are very rare and often more
expensive than the synth itself!?! Is there some compatible cards
from another manufacturer?

Laurent
