Hi,
Thanks for the help Stuart and Mike.

The audio problem turned out to be caused by changed MIDI settings by one of the sample download programs I tried (but never successfully). My FZ is now in eternal REMOTE mode and volume can only be changed through midi, not local with the slider.

I am searching how to reset the FZ into LOCAL mode again."

I am having the same problem - the FZ1 is stuck in REMOTE - and there seems to be no info in the manuals as to whether there is a LOCAL mode and how to attain it??

That's what I would have thought.

[Remote]

is in square brackets much like any of the other menus but will not alter under facia control.
Is there some value such as

[Local]

that this should alter to? I can't find any reference in the manual.
I was hoping I could dump samples to an Alesis data drive with two midi cabes, but this does not work and I am not sure if it is lack of acknowledgement from the Alesis of the data packets or whether it is because of the midi mode being in remote.
If there is some other value that goes in those brackets, then it seems prior use of an Fz dumper (for pc) has rendered it unobtainable much as was suggested by the other user I found online.

isn't it just as easy as the data entry buttons while in the midi menu?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
