Characters are written by sending MIDI data to the device. It also has a MIDI in/out subcircuit for adding MIDI to a PSIM. Finally, it can be configured to operate as a standalone MIDI monitor. PCB by John Loffink, AVR code by Dave Brown. The board can run off +15 V or + 5 V power. Using +15 V requires a heatsink for the 7805 5 V regulator, as shown.
