I'm not going to rejoin the 'features' discussion but just a comment on the multiple synchronization need. I documented some of this on my website including replacing a resonator with a crystal (not for the faint of heart) and using external I/O to synchronize multiple modules. One needs to be a master and the others slaves. I updated a program for Gary to try and haven't heard yet. I personally favor using backchannel serial communication to synchronize the modules. I put a video of this on the site as well. Best wishes for agreeing on a set of features. I second the projected BOM costing.
