I am now running my PSIM sequencer using my I2C 16 channel A/D PCB and the John Loffink LCD_Support PCB. I modified my CVS code to use the AtomPro24. The LCD_Support PCB provides a text-based user interface and MIDI output. The 16 channel A/C PCB wires up to 16 potentiometers for a 4 octave range pitch selection on 1 to 16 steps. In-1, Start, and Stop provide the user controls for setup. Out-1 is CV, Out-2 is a 5 mS trigger, and Out-3 and Out-4 are programmable gates per sequencer step. Features include: Programmable number of steps 1-16 Programmable Gate1 level per step Programmable Gate2 level per step 5 mS Trigger Programmable MIDI Program Change patch per step (e.g. AcouGrnd, etc.) Forward / backward step pre-tuning Ordered and random sequencing CV and MIDI output The display indicates the Step number, Midi patch, Note number, and Gate1 and Gate2 levels This interfaces to the PSIM with two connectors: I2C data and clock to J3 Serial output and power to J5 All design data, schematics, code, and PCB design files are on my site http://modularsynthesis.com/modules/synthmodules/PSIM-Expansion/PSIM- Expansion.htm PCBs can be ordered directly from ExpressPCB at 3 for $51. The I2C parts can be ordered at Digikey for a few dollars each. Power consumption of the I2C PCB is low: ~5 mA plus current for the potentiometers. The AtomPro can read all 16 channels in less than 7 mS. There are also several videos on my CVS page of the sequencer. Enjoy. - Dave
