Aha. That was the other alternative. I guess being
locked in would require the layout be redone, which is
a nuisance.

Yes, it appears to be a fundamental requirement of the
CVS that it be highly compatible with existing PSIM
code. Without that baseline it would be possible to
take advantage of a wide variety of other processors &
languages, but would also require a great deal of
fresh software development. From what I've read back
in the early days of this group the software legacy is
worth more than the hardware.
