Thought I'd pass along two programs I've written which could be turned into dedicated modules using the CVS board. I actually something similiar to this some time back. I have a Kurzweil Expressonmate ribbon and I wrote a program to parse the MIDI and provide a CV out. Sometime later I found just the Kurzweil Ribbon mechanism, model PC2, at Sweetwater for $50. I wrote another program that sets one of the OUTs for 5.7 volts to the ribbon and I use three of the INs to read the individual sections. I incorporated a diode drop in the ribbon so that I could tell the difference between no touch, and the low end contact. I use three other OUTs for CV, trigger, and gate. I use one more IN as a center adjustment so that you can tweak the center position of the ribbon to 5.0 volts. An application like this only takes about half of the parts on the board. This mechanism is actually three separate ribbons so I had to piece the sections into a continuous ribbon in the program. You could just as easily output three separate ribbons. You don't have enough OUTs for trigger and gates, but you could easily use the LED outputs for the additonal triggers and have three complete ribbons. START could be used to toggle between a single or triple configuration. You could also expand the capabilities with different modes similar to the Expressionmate like return to center, absolute, relative, etc. Hopefully someday information on these types of dedicated applications will be posted.
