According to this product brochure

they appear to be physically the same.  However, the critical part is the
location of the Vcc and GND pins. The CVS LCD Support PCB matches the Seiko
L1672 pinout.  For the Lumex LCD the Vcc and GND connections must be
reversed.  

This Seiko LCD data sheet

shows M1632 GND on pin 1 and Vdd on pin 2, which matches the LCD Support
PCB.  I would also ohm out GND using the backlight connections, just to be
safe.
