There seem are quite a lot of lady DJ's hanging out on label-hosted fora. (I
don't frequent these, but occasionally I get a heads-up to go look at one. I
notice that the gals tend to come out of hiding after someone has pointed to my
gear list. They have very sharp teeth!)
DJ'ing has gotten a lot of people into music production, so I think it's
great to see women getting into emusic from that angle. It selects for people with
showmanship and a consciousness of audience response.
>have you checked out the Adrenalinn?
Really good question to ask. I just put the II chip in my first version
AdrenaLinn, and hooked up the nearest thing to check it out, which happened to be a
Basstation keyboard. I almost forgot to go to bed!

The thing people don't see is that so much of my stuff has full editing in
the old Galaxy Editors program. One reason I have so many newer keyboards as
opposed to rack module versions is that I want as much interface as I can get if
I don't have the Galaxy editor for it. It's an uphill battle to use SoundDiver
in a big rig. The beauty of the Opcode stuff is how the apps all integrate,
and there's Max to build a special-project gizmo to filter MIDI in or out, and
the virtual IAC bus to connect all the software. This is why I stay in the
dark ages of beige Macintosh.
>have a good tootle
Yes, Richard, I'm Patchman-enhanced too!
He's referring to a ROM chip of wonderful monophonic physical modelling
sounds for the WX5-friendly Yamaha VL1-m. My goal is to mangle them post-tootle,
and (topic! topic!) Evolver is a hot candidate for that.
Well, try as I might to be aimless, I've done something constructive this
weekend. I have been getting used to having satellite radio in my house, and I'm
entranced with the African music channel. So I spent hours adding 12-count
meter to my step-sequencing app. Hooray!
Moral--don't get stuck in current emusic genres. Keep an ear out for
everything that might inspire a new experiment. Snagging satellite broadcasts (101
channels!) is a relatively cheap way to do this.
