Re: [Evolver] new abuser...

One input, one analog osc and one digital osc are tied together in the stereo field. There is the "Output Pan" parameter which has 7 positions and allows you to keep them full wide, less wide, nearly mono, totally mono and then the same three but inverted. However when "Stereo Pan" is chosen as a modulation destination, it is continuously variable.
I would say that the evolver is more stereo than say the Pulse in that at least ALL the oscs and sound inputs aren't glued together as in the pulse (as necesitated by the singular filter). Also it is pretty real stereo in regard to external inputs since there are two separate filters, one per side.
In order to have each OSC have its own panning location, you would need at least 4 VCFs right?
The only place that it falls a little off the stereo bandwagon in my view is the delay is mono in all regards.
Perhaps some panning delay taps would be cool, as a feature upgrade, etc.

Subject: [Evolver] new abuser...

just ordered my evolver & thought i'd better start to read the .pdf manual
so i hit the ground running...

anyways, it seems to me that the stereo output is not stereo in the true
sense, though there are 2 of 'em! the outputs appear to have 1 analogue & 1
digital osc coming out of each side. is this correct, or are the 4
oscillators summed in some way (no pun intended!) before the output?
wouldn't it make more sense having the 4 oscillators freely & independently
pan-able...? otherwise i'll be using mine as a mono output synth without any
pan.

forgive me if this sounds stupid, but its been a long day already! i need a
cup of tea...

}:-)

ps i see a few familiar names in here... hiya!
