Well, there isn't any going back now, his machine is great. I
bought it as part of re-vamping my studio from fully computer to
computer controlling hardware. I love this thing. I've mostly been
using a freeware programme called BUZZ to make electronic music,
which is buggy and sucks in some ways but some of the instruments
and effects in BUZZ are really great. I've owned a few analogues
through the years, but BUZZ synths generally have some wierdness and
extreme properties to them that most plain jane synths don't have.
I must say that the Evolver possesses some of the crazy
wierdness I've come to like in synthesizer programming that you
can't get with a lot of standard analogue synths (like junos, MKS-
70, even a MINIMOOG really (the MM is _NOT_ one of my fav synths for
sure)...). I really appreciate all the Fvcked up signal processing
I can do with it as well as all the sounds it makes. The RANGE of
noises I can get out of this thing is just SICK. Well worth the
dough, even given my tight budget. It's intuitive to use also, I
have no complaints with the UI, it works and it works FAST (but then
I learned synthesis several years ago on a Korg Poly-800, which has
an up and a down button to adjust one parameter at a time)
