Sorry, english is not my native language, i have difficulties to express my thoughts. I agree with you that all these old classics sound very different. But old monosynths share together a special quality in sound that I have never encountered in the various modern recreations I heard. Note that there are too many plug ins, virtual analogs out there, so that I am far from knowing them all. I wanted to say that the Evolver did'nt change the situation in this respect. If you want to make simple drone music a la Eliane Radigue, you have to find a Arp 2600. I will never get rich enough for an Arp 2600, but I have had a MS20 for many years, and I feel that it will remain forever the nervous center of my studio. May be it's just thatI know it very well... I said that the Evolver is the only synth I take to play live. This imply that I spent really a lot of time with it, but after one year, I cannot say that I know it very well... Would you say that it was not typically analog(ue) in the sense that it is rather "bad" at emulating other vintage analogs? I mean the Jupiter8 was insanely "bad" at emulating an Oberheim 4-voice. And vise versa, and . .
