I updated my Evolver to Ver 2 successfully using the .mid files 
posted on the Evolver site. May be of interest as I used a hardware 
sequencer for this operation (I have had no problems using this setup 
for other synths, so I was relatively confident this would work).

I saved the files to a PC-formatted diskette (double sided-double 
density... yikes!)and loaded that into a Roland MC-50 MkII (with 
Standard MIDI File converter). There is a utility from Roland that 
provides the same functionality to a standard MC-50. The MC-50 
converts the files to save the sysex to MC-50 formatted disks. 
 
Once converted, the files were loaded as 2 songs. I turned off all 
clocks, active sensing, etc and played them into the Evolver.... all 
proceeded just as outlined in the instructions. Followed the same 
process for Bank 4 presets - worked great!
