Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

This is basically a MIDI recording question. I'm trying to trigger sequences in Evolver 
with my MIDI track and
have them sync with 
a software drum machine. I can trigger the sequence to play once, or
hold one note, 
but cannot get it to evenly repeat. I haven't even tried syncing it
with drums yet. 
Everything is MIDI so it should sync up perfectly. How is everyone
doing this?
