Not 100% I understand what you're asking but : You can trigger the sequencer either with MIDI clock or an external audio signal. The one thing you can't do that would be *really* useful is step the sequencer with MIDI notes. My fingers are crossed it will get in there one day. You can get some groovy effects from stepping the sequencer from MIDI clock and using it to vary some synth parameters (digital osc waves, filter, PWM, delay feedback, FM depth etc.) whilst triggering the envelopes via the MIDI notes not the sequencer. Very wavestationy ;-) The *one* way currently to step the sequencer from MIDI notes also involves recording the MIDI note values into the sequencer at the same time. >Besides sending note value what other MIDI >does the Evolver send ? The Evolver doesn't send note values IIRC. It sends sysex when you twiddle knobs but that's about it, if memory serves. >Btw, i found it strange that someone like Dave Smith who almost >invented MIDI, did not give the Evolver a way to transmit all MIDI >parameters. I kinda agree although I also see it as quite "self-contained" and transmission makes most sense within the context of the Evolver itself because of the synth's structure. If the parameters could be CC-controlled you'd probably sequence it from something more powerful externally anyway, such as an MAQ, Regelwerk or Zeit. At least you can control up to 4 parameters using the fixed control sources and then there's the "free" modulation slots. You can do a lot, really.
