Hmmm...  not sure about a hard reset, but what you've described 
sounds like it may be related to the current config.  The Evolver can 
be a strange beast when you get into all the different triggering 
options, etc.

I would check the following settings:

Midi Clock Mode 
Midi Recieve 
Trigger Mode

It also may be helpful to isolate the Evolver from the rest of your 
equipment for observation. It might be interacting with some external 
Midi in an unexpected way.
