PolyChain Audio Help

2005-06-11 by dodgingrain

Can anyone help me with a problem when chaining an evolver and a
polyevolver? The voice from the evolver seems about 3 to 6 db louder
than the voices from the poly(checking via the mixer in cubase). I
have the evolver's outputs going directly into the poly's mix inputs
and am using an identical patch on both. I'm monitoring the poly's
main outs. The input gain on both units is at 0 and both units are set
to poly chain all midi data.

Is this by design so that the poly does not clip so easily with 4 notes
being played at once? If so that feature SHOULD automatically be
disabled in polychain mode. Having 1 voice out of 5 louder than the
others simply sucks.

Can anyone else reproduce this on their setup? It would be great to
know if this is an issue everyone has before I go and bug Dave about it.
