Yes, and I've done exactly as you've described.  It makes for some 
interesting patterns.

In 3.0 this is one of the Trigger Modes, but in 2.0 the setting is 
under the Midi Clock options.  Each note will then advance the 
sequencer, which will trigger the envelope for that step (unless you 
specifically turned it to 'Off' on Sequence 1)
