Hi all,

 

has anyone tried the novation remote 25 together with the evo desktop? The
evo sysex implementation is very tricky.

When I try to change one parameter of my evo i need to change two sysex bits
at the the same time  (LS Nibble, MS Nibble).

The Remote 25 allows only one bit at the same time. I Know I can order the
3.0 update and use these CCs. Is there a SYSEXWAY?

i agree with andrea -- i originally bought my remote for use with my g2, but
have found that the wealth of controllers and it's compact size are perfect
for any application.  also, the small screen allows for more in depth visual
feedback than the edirol 50, which i used to own.  you pay a premium for
being able to name parameters and other bells and whistles, but with so many
parameters to control, it's nice to have those options!

i'm a n00b to the evolver though, and i must confess to not having tried out
the sysex strings approach -- are there any previous posts that might have a
tutorial about controlling the evo's parameters this way??

not cheap compare to the Edirol but
it can send and memorize not only
MIDI CCs but also MIDI SYSex strings
that the evolver seems to (let's say) digest better ;-) 
it will make a nice controller for any synth
if u have more then just the Evolver
