Hi Pierre, These are very good questions. In Cubase 3.1, the external instruments feature does away with the two-track method and even lets you dial in latency compensation for each hardware instrument connected via MIDI. For earlier versions, yes - the two track method it is. As for the editor's response to front panel edits, this is a feature that will be added prior to the software's first release. Our designers started from the premise that users who use the editor would not combine it's use with front panel maneuvering.
