Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Hello members 
I am a new owner of a DSI Evolver.
1 week new.Dave Smith you are "The MAN".
One question 
When first plugged to AC it does not turn on.
I must remove power cord from the Evolver and reinsert 
into the rear of Evolver for it to come on. 
Is this normal ?
I think not.  
Someone please respond I am concerned about this .
