Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Hello:

I just purchased an Evolver Classic (desktop) and I am totally in love
with it.  The interface, though somewhat claustrophobic, is not as bad
as it was made out to be.  Still, I think a visual editor would speed
up the patch-making process.

Has anyone made a FREE alternative to the two big editors (and SD)?  I
imagine someone would've at least made a FL Studio Dashboard or
something.  I mean, it's just MIDI CC#s and sysex, right?  I wonder if
it would be possible to create a VST in SynthEdit that acts as a
front-end.  

Just thinking out loud, I guess.
