new guy, quick question

2006-07-11 by analoghardware

Hello,

I bought an evolver a while back as I had read many great things about
it, especially its synthesis capabilities.

While I love the sounds it has stored, I cannot get it to act as a
stand alone synth ... I cannot figure out how to make it simply bypass
the sequencer. I use an MPC2000xl for all of my sequencing, so for
the time being ... to keep the learning curve of this synth manageable
... I wanted to ignore that facet of this synth. However, in reading
the word document in the files section as well as the manual; I cannot
for the life of me figure out how to do this. I know (or understand)
that I am to have 7-7 set to all or ndl ... and 7-8 anything BUT off.

With these settings I still cannot get the pitch of the evolver to
match the keys i'm hitting on my controller.

Does anyone know of a quick way to do this?

I've tried a few controllers ... my MPC, a Microkorg ... a Nord Lead 3
... and a Juno 106; same results.

I have to admit, i've been busy building an x0xb0x so I have not had a
lot of time to devote to this little beast; so any help with a
starting point is greatly appreciated. I'm not good with matrix based
synths, I like knobs. I also bought the editor if that helps.

Thanks,
Kyle_T
