Re: [Evolver] Chaining Problem

Same answer as the one I sent to Joe,

"
I
would imagine you HAVE to have the mono evolver as well as the PEK on
their OWN separate channels on the mixer. Audio signal for each voice
is created in each synth. ie the first 4 voices are created on the PEK
& go to the PEK's outs and the 5th voice is created on the desktop
and to through its own outs. That is not a work around that is simply
how it is done. Audio for the first 4 voices are not transmitted to the
desktop via the midi cable - only the midi data is (ie patch info, note
on/off, voice number etc...). Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

I just bought a MEK and can't get it to chain to my Desktop Evolver.

Here's what I did:

MEK Poly Chain Out to Desktop Evolver MIDI IN (MIDI Cable)

MEK Outputs to Desktop Evolver Inputs

MEK Poly Chain set to 2

Desktop Evolver MIDI Chain set to ALL (???)

MEK MIDI set to Clock OUT

Desktop Evolver MIDI Clock set to IN

I hear only every second note and the MEK knobs don't do anything. The

sound comes out of the Desktop Evolver, and its knobs work.

MEK Serial number 00073

Desktop Serial number 1816 (pre version 3)

Thanks in advance for any help here.

- Paul
