Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Could someone please advice me on how to slave my v2 Evolver to Cubase 
SX 3 or Nuendo 3I wish to have the evolver sequencer start and stop in 
time with my host sequencer.  I've tried a few settings per the manual 
but nothing seems to work.  The evolver's sequencer won't start except 
on it's own from the panel.
