Mr. Linn,
I recently read the post below on the DSI Evolver Mailing List, and had another suggestion. Could you PLEASE make the planned variable bit-depth sampling of the Boom-Chik 24bit/96k so I can sell my MPC 4000 (Akai/NuMark isn't supporting the OS anymore)?!!
Thanks for your time,
R.Smith
P.S. including pads like on the LinnDrum would be nice... also "hold" & "roll" buttons for drum performing.

Hi Brooks,
Thanks for the useful suggestions. At this time we plan to include both sampling and variable bit depth, and hope to update our description of the product on our web sites hopefully soon.
Best,
Roger Linn

Subject: Boom-Chik suggestions
To Roger Linn or to whom it may concern,
After reading about the "Boom-Chik" drum machine concept I am completely intrigued. I have some realistic suggestions that I believe are really what people are looking for in drum machines today. I like the concept of having some analog voices, but having *just* the addition of digital sample playback isn't enough. If sampling isn't a feature that will be included on this machine I really suggest that it will allow you to import from your own recording/sampling device, or read older sampler data (Akai, E-mu, etc.). More importantly, people want 12 bit lo-fi samples for drum sounds, especially in *any* electronic music genre be it hip-hop or techno. People love using the old Emax or SP-1200's to get "that" sound. The Elektron Machinedrum has a 12 bit sampler option. Also, my Jomox drum machine has a few analog voices for the kick drum and the snare, but the rest of the sounds are either 6 or 8 bit (I forget) samples in order to get that in your face punchy gritty percussion sound. This is very important.
Thank you for your time in reading my suggestions,
Brooks Mosher
