But then, why is it that you CAN hear the distorted Oscillator 4 when 
panning is set to RxxxxL, while you can't when set to LxxxxR?

I would at least call this "strange behavior" :-)

Now that we're on the topic of Evo's quirks, I wonder whether anyone 
noticed this one (it might have been corrected in a recent version as I 
reported this one to DSI some time ago...):

Set any of the LFO's to modulate whatever you like and put the 
frequency to 20: one cycle will take 2.5 seconds. Change it to 22: one 
cycle will now take 2 seconds. Nothing strange here, of course. But 
now, change the frequency to 21; you'd expect one cycle to take 
something like 2.25 seconds, in reality, it is 4!
