I am using Ableton Live as a sequencing source for the Desktop Evolver. I would like to use the wave shape sequence feature on the Evolver for variable sounds throughout a sequence. I have tested all settings on the Midi Clock on the Evolver and the results I get are not satisfactory. If the setting is off the shape sequence does not work. If the setting is "in", the Evolver Sequencer steps through the various shapes triggering sounds on every step. This is not what I want since the Ableton sequence does not have a trigger on every step. So, the problem is that when I have silence on a step in my Ableton Sequence, the Evolver sequencer then triggers a sound irregardless. I suppose I could turn the wave shape to off on that particular step, but that would entail Evolver programming for each sequence that I have created in Ableton and for sequences greater than 16 steps that I can create in Ableton I would not be able to mimic on the Evolver. What would be ideal is that the wave shapes are only triggered via the Evolver when there is a midi note signal sent from the external sequencer, and when there is not a signal sent then the Evolver would step silently over that sequence step. Is this possible? I hope this makes sense. Can someone help? Thanks bdotodotx
