I love the polyevolver's sounds but dont love the paltry 4 voices. I know they talk about chaining them together but that is expensive and clumsy and impractical especially if one performs. I also opened up my PEK and saw that about one half the case was actually empty----the electronics were mostly on one side. so i had this idea that i proposed direct to DSI... (they said they liked it)
make a 'voice expansion kit' that could screw in inside the PEK to at least double the voices to 8 (as many as the less expensive prophet08) ...the wiring alraedy is set up to chain things, but do it all INTERNALLY. basically making an 8 { or 12?) voice PE. I still dont know why they didnt do this initially...most competitive Topoftheline synths have 8,16,or32 voices. it seems odd the PEK has only 4. even my 1984 Juno106 has 6.
so if you also think this is a good idea let DSI know directly ..ill be psyched if this upgrade turns up for sale soon. im sure they will notice the interest.Message
