Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

I bet the reason for this is that they are probably going to re-release the PEK with additional voices. I heard from a pretty reputable source that they were planning on releasing an 8 (or 16) voice evolver a couple of years ago - hopefully that rumor didn't materialize in the form of the prophet08.....

funny how Tracy was far more enthusiastic when i emailed him about the idea  a month or two ago.... He thought it was a great idea. The mod /kit is  OBVIOUSLY very possible to do.   and dragging around an extra unit (the rack model) in addition to your keyboard is simply STUPID--if they ever expect people to want to use it live, on stage.(or anywhere out of a studio set up )   Perhaps they have difficulty admitting its limitations publicly to the marketplace. I suggested simultaneously releasing an updated model option --the  PEK-08  --- an  8 voice model. That would NOT diminish future sales, but would keep them competitive  by releasing improvements.  I SAY--- HAMMER THEM WITH EMAILS--- they will have to respond to their fans/customers. they have before.
