Yes, the ratings of the new power supply exceed what is needed by the Poly Evolver. It is more than adequate.

The only thing you need to be sure of is that the polarity at the plug is correct,  meaning if the tip/inner sleeve is positive or negative.

At the moment I forget which is correct for the Poly Evolver but there should be a diagram on both PE and the power supply indicating their respective polarities. Some power supplies have a removable plug which can be turned to send the positive to either the tip/inner sleeve or the outer sleeve.
