The MEK can't receive or transmit start/stop messages. The only way to
do what you are looking for is to apply the setting that lets the MEK
sequencer to play one note per note message received (don't recall the
parameter), and send quarter notes to the MEK.

Hi,

 

I'm trying to program a Midi Solutions Foot Switch controller to be able
to start/stop the MEK sequencer using a foot pedal.

 

If I use the midi note start/stop option, the MEK sequencer only
responds when the clock is set to midi in.  Since there is no clock
provided, the sequencer doesn't run even though the start/stop but
indicates message received (expected).

 

Is it possible to use sysex to do this while leaving clock set to
internal?  I noticed in the manual, there are real time messages for
start (1111 1010) and stop (1111 1100) but I'm not sure what the rest of
the message should be.
