Just got an evolver!!!

Just got an evolver!!!

2003-05-03 by Paul Vnuk

Hello,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello.
I have had my evolver about a month now and just found this group. I finished my first song with the evolver a few weeks ago with the first "successful" patch I have ever wrote. Here is a link to the song:
http://www.darkduck.net/drone.htm its track number 21 or here is the direct link,
The evolver was the only synth used on the song, the rest is a nylon string gtr, Rhodes key bass, Tibetan bells and a rain stick.(the rain stick and bells are heavily processed so they sound like a synth).
I bought the evolver originally to create background drones and sequences and was pleasantly surprised at how great and unique of a mono synth it is.
If anyone has any good tips or tricks for creating slowwwly "evolving" patches let me know :-)

Hi, Paul-

Welcome to the forum! :)

I am starting to find that a good way to get slow
evolving things happening in the step sequencing is to
really play with the the attacks and sustains in your
filters and VCRs. Really overlap the steps.

I am still learning this thing, it is so deep. It will
take a bit of doing.

:)
