Childish, hmm ? ;-)

No, I use my keyboard ;-)
If you're talking about that jingle.mp3, this are 3 different midi trigger
notes and the Evolver step sequencer plays in Yamaha PSR accompaniment
automation style ;-) Usually I set the most useful modulations to modwheel,
aftertouch, pitch up and pitch down.
In the example the modwheel reduces the filter envelope amount to change
from staccato to legato notes, aftertouch routes an lfo to filter split to
gain that rhythmic "panning" effect, pitch up adds delay and pitch down adds
fm of one of the digital oscs.

With my microQ I tried a lot to use synced LFOs to imitate a kind of
stepsequencer or to play melodies. But this is very straining. Though the
microQ offers all kinds of arithmetic and logical operators to combine LFOs,
it is nearly impossible to create pure pitch intervals...

Stefan

wooow:) ok!
i havent used E with a keyboard yet..but the thing was
that only the notes got recorded in a sequenser right?
and it anoying that one have to reset(and search for
startpoint of sequenser again..if the sequenser is
long and messy that is:)

i allso got FSR-1 i think i saw your mailadress on
yahoo group threre.
its a nightmare to edit it..i use soundiver but there
is so MUSH of everything!!
threre is some cool tools for fsr-1(fseq) were you can
draw (better then one can in SD)your own fseq or
import audifiles!
http://smasher.suspicious.org/fs1r/
i use mac so i cant.
peace out.

I'd recommend to try that. Lots of fun.

I have synced the Evolver to Cubase so that the internal Evolversequencer
starts if I press "record" in Cubase. Then I send a trigger note from my
keyboard, the Evolver interpretes it as "base" note for the stepsequencer.

I don't have an FS1R. I am very glad about my Evolver because I bought the
FM7 softsynth half a year ago and, though trying hard, I never managed to
become familiar with fm synthesis. It took hours for me to gain a decent fm
sound..
Back to subtractive synthesis now. Seems to be the only method that I am
able to manage ;-)

Stefan

You may be interested in the latest edition of Electronic Musician magazine,
has a great tutorial article on programming the FM7 synth from the basics, I
learned quite a bit from this article, even though I have read the FM7
manual several times.
