Tip: ENV3 and psuedo 32 step sequences
2002-11-10 by Ravi Ivan Sharma
I am not sure you could use rests on all sequencer
tracks. After all there is only one set of envelops no matter what.
I have however formulated (in my head
anyway--haven't tried it yet) a way to have a single osc1 in a sequence
play with a different env. than the rest: Turn say OSC4 level down to 0,
then set ENV3 destination to OSC3, create your desired envelope3 (that should be
different than the regular VCA Env to make this be worthwhile), set ENV3 level
to 0, then set say SEQ4 destination to ENV3 Level. Now you can control at what
times you hear OSC4 and when you do, it will be a different envelope than the
other OSCs being heard in the sequence. Of course ENV3 will always fire at the
same time as the other envelopes, but that doesn't mean you can islolate an
instance of ENV3/OSC4 by having the levels on other oscs to zero when
appropriate.
Any without actually playing around and trying it,
who knows what one can do. I think that it might yeild some wild
sequences.
I very much like the pseudo 32 note sequences that
use an lfo set to S32 timing. For example, A19 rolls for 16 than
changes key for 16, giving the appearance of a 32 note sequencer. (also the
filter turns over after 32 as well). Totally great!

shift is used for the sequencer, it would activate the gate, where
gate time would be from 0-100 (auxillary advantage is that a gate
parameter elmiminates the need for 'off' setting on first sequencer
track AND allows one to use rests on all sequencer tracks. Nice, no?)
and after 100 the display would read 6Ld...glide! For the sequencer
to transmit MIDI would be awesome, too.
Is it too early to start writing up a wish list for new features in
the next OS rev? ;)
