Amazing Evolver software!!

Amazing Evolver software!!

2003-11-01 by Roonan

At first i didn't want to buy the software because I don't spend
good money on hardware to edit it with software, that way I could
save a lot of money and go for VST plugins.
But the ability to have an librarian for the evo and other functions
(morph and snapshots) made me buy it.

I was suprised to see how good it works but the biggest surprise was
the use of morph and mutate in the genetics menu.
WOW!!! Very usefull indeed!!
Just pick two very different patches and listen to the 128
variations it makes, I've never come up with very interesting
patches this fast! The true depth of the evolver is showing itself
now, I'm very impressed.

If someone's interested I could make some examples of input and
result in MP3 format.

Yup! It really gives a nice start at creating new patches. Always
surprising results.

The software totally unlocked the Evolver for me. It is a quick-
start to editing the Evolver. Much faster to experiment with.

Yes, I'd like to hear them for sure!!

o.k., here is the link:
http://roonan.fiberworld.nl/Demo/evolver_soft_demo.mp3

The first two sounds are the input mommy and daddy.
All following sounds are the kids (offspring)
It's a selection of the 128 kids.
All sounds are played by hand (as if you can't hear that ;-) so no
sequencer is used in this demo.
All sounds are raw and direct result of the mutate function.
This demo is only made to show how different the results (kids) can
be. A lot of them make very good starting points.

You should email this to Mark at - evolver@...

I think this would be a cool demo for his Evolver Editor page! He
has my little sequencer demo on there already.

No, its not supported in the demo version.
To bad, it would be better if there was a full functional demo wich
would last for a certain amount off time. I tried the demo too and it
didn't show the true value. It was the almost fully functional Beta
wich made me buy it.
