Hi, I was confused about this too... my understanding is that the Evolver's sequencer does not currently send out MIDI. Hopefully this will be solved in a future update From FAQ at the Evolver website... http://www.davesmithinstruments.com/support/FAQ.html: 9) Does the Sequencer send out MIDI? No; the sequencer is a general purpose modulation source, that can be routed to many different destinations, including note value. I will likely implement some sort of MIDI transmit ability in the future. phonophobie <sidstation@...> wrote: hi there, one of new features in os2 is midi output sequence destinatons. so if i am right i can use evolvers sequencer to trigger external gear. can anyone please give me a little help how to do it? i tried it today - but without success. i wonder what i did wrong...hmmmm thanx phono Yahoo! i'm totally with you there :) at least we've got the editor...which (for me) makes tweaking Evolver so much fun! can anyone please double confirm that sequencer output is not a feature with the 2.0 upgrade, and that it isn't possible yet?? --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, "phonophobie" <sidstation@h...> wrote: > ah, ok - i got it now;) in fact a little confusing ... would be nice > when this is posible in the future..all that freaky > sequences ..hehe..thanx...phono > > --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, Drew Derr <drewderr@y...> wrote: > > > > Hi, I was confused about this too... my understanding is that the > Evolver's sequencer does not currently send out MIDI. No, that's completely wrong, midi sequencer output is _definitely_ possible with the OS 2.0 upgrade (I know because I've tried it and it works). [Not your mistake of course, rather the previous poster's -- the DSI FAQ apparently hasn't been updated to account for OS 2.0.] Once again: midi sequencer output works fine with OS 2.0 The only confusing thing is that the parameter value of a given pitch is _different_ for the oscillators and for midi, so you can't just change the sequencer destination from OAF to MnO (`midi note number') and expect to hear anything recognizable. -Miles -- 80% of success is just showing up. --Woody Allen

ok, now i know what i did wrong. i tried to use it with midi thru..that was not working for me - it works with midi out port. hehe. i feel a little dizzy now ;) --- In DSI_Evolver@yahoogroups.com, Miles Bader <miles@g...> wrote: > On Sat, Dec 06, 2003 at 09:09:46PM -0000, drewderr wrote: > > can anyone please double confirm that sequencer output is not a > > feature with the 2.0 upgrade, and that it isn't possible yet?? > > No, that's completely wrong, midi sequencer output is _definitely_ possible > with the OS 2.0 upgrade (I know because I've tried it and it works). > [Not your mistake of course, rather the previous poster's -- the DSI > FAQ apparently hasn't been updated to account for OS 2.0.] > > Once again: midi sequencer output works fine with OS 2.0 > > The only confusing thing is that the parameter value of a given pitch is > _different_ for the oscillators and for midi, so you can't just change the > sequencer destination from OAF to MnO (`midi note number') and expect to
