The One That Got Me

The One That Got Me

2002-12-03 by data0707

Hi Everyone,

Evolver arrives soon and I have to say the patch that really got me
to part with my hard earned cash was the "The Ten Eight Sequence",
by Ravi Sharma. Actually I rather like all Ravi's patches, they
seem amoung the most useful and musical. I suppose the first task
( if I can call it that) for me will be to figure out how he did it.
What fun!!
Thank you Dave Smith, and thank you Ravi Sharma, for igniting a
spark.

I would say that patches aren't mean ONLY to be
musical, there are MANY great patches made by Dave
himself, and may others which are WONERFULLY
CREATIVE!!! I personnal do not make trance or
"musical" music.... I make rather strict pumping
tekno, hard tekno, Drum n'Bass - Tech-Step, Hard-Step,
Trip-Hop, Breakbeat... and I prefer once that sound
"interestin", and not specially musical... I prefer
"industrial" sounds...

So I am actually trying t say that patches are just to
be explored, and twaeked... they all depend on each
persons' <<PERSONAL>> taste, so it isn't correct to
say that one is doing "better" than another...

Creativity with sound synthesis should not be obliged
to sound MUSCICAL... as long as it does not sound odd,
ordinary.... as long as it is ORIGINAL, NEW, SCHOKING
maybe ? as long as it has it's own character...

I wrote just to say that a patch that is useful,
really dpends how you use it... it can be considered
useful, but totally USELESS if put together in a "bad"
way....

anywayz... the EVOLVER IS DAMN GOOOOOOOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!
and well priced ! I love mine.... just like I love my
777, my sid-station.... but of course I love my
Modular Analog Drum machine (TOP SECRET) above all
!!!! !!!!!!!!

Any idea what OS version is in our Evolvers and how we find out? Some
key combination on startup maybe?
