Evolver vs Pro-One - was Re: [Evolver] Tell me why i should get it...

I have both right here next to me at the moment. The Pro-One is an analogue monosynth that does great bass and FX sounds. The Evolver could be used for totally filling out a track, making all sorts of amazing droning and bleepyness, really pretty sounding melodic things, and some quite solid sounding bass... It doesn't sound particularly analogue to me, IMO (and yes I did try setting up a "basic" subtractive synth patch with just the anlogue oscillators, env on the lowpass filter, and all the feedback stuff turned off) but thats not a bad thing... remember, on the website Dave did actually say that with this one he wasn't out to repeat himself. So really, the bottom line is you need them both...... And if money is tight, the only logical choice is to not eat for the next month. :-P julian -- http://bleepin.com ----- Original Message -----
