From: "Ravi Ivan Sharma" <noision1@...> > I didn't mind the discussion and argument, in fact, I love it. Calling someone a stupid idiot, or a dickhead, or something like that is definately a personal attack.. but saying someone is whining, IMO, is a valid statement. and I stand by it in this case. Though using words like "dribble" was probably less defensible. sorry. I will try to be less like that on here in the future. > Anyway, in regard to the Polyevolver, yes, I think it's price is a > pretty penny myself. But if I decided I needed a poly evolver, I'd do what I needed to do to get one. Its in the same basic price range as a lot of other modern equipment..... > I am not knowledgable in the cost of analog components, but given the > other prices of new analog gear and the history and demonstrated good > character of Dave Smith, I have to believe on that that stuff is > expensive and even Dave Smith can't do anything about it . . . except > choose to not build it. I am thankful he is. > Perhaps people are spoiled.. I happen to think the normal evolver is a fantastic deal for what it does... and 4 times the circuitry for less than 3 times the price (and a $50 editor program thrown in too) seems very good to me. That said, I don't claim to know the costs of parts and design represented in the polyevolver either... and I'm actually an electronic design engineer. (which is why I get annoyed at some real estate agent pulling out arbitary numbers and going on about costs of components like they know something about it... it's like being in an R&D meeting with sales and marketing managers all over again.) julian -- http://bleepin.com
