Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator

Moog MF-102 Ring Modulator

2004-08-07 by Simon Leclerc

You're right, f**K soundtower and let's change subject.

I play electric guitar too and i i'd like to know
if it's possible to replacate what can be achieved
with a Moog MF-102.
Like bizarre or subtle Tremolo's, landing UFO...
There are a few samples
on Moog's:

I'm interested in the MF-102 but
i thought may be my Evolver can do the job (maybe even better).
I might buy a second evo if it's great as an fx processor for guitars.

If you have any tips, tricks or suggestions when using
Evo has an fx processor for guitars, please let me know.
I will get my hands on Evo only in a couple of days so
i thought i study for my next session with
my favorite mutant beast.

Thank you,

Simon

Yes. This should be possible - ring modulation is effectively amplitude modulation - so you should be able to use either an osc or an lfo to get a similar effect. I’ve heard the 102 a few times and it has a very distinct tone - I’d be suprised if the evo had the same tone, but I’d also be suprised if the evo couldn’t be much much wierder.

I'm going for weirdness and
every Tremelo fx possible.
I'm sure Evo will deliver interesting results
once again.

Thanks for your reply Z.
