Re: Digital/Analogue

Seems to me that "we're" forgetting the Evo is actually a digital/analog hybrid so not a pure analogue at all!!

Surely any competent and sensitive musician can mix sounds regardless of their origin - the "only analogue" approach seems to be extremely blinkered and restrictive.

The best art can come from breaking the rules, and if you only use sounds because of their synthetic origin rather than their musical character then I believe the phrase "musician" needs to be replaced with something else.

I guess this is the difference between a musician and a synthesist, one makes music, one makes a fuss

This is the best response yet, everything I've been thinking but couldn't
put into words.

[Evolver] Re: Digital/Analogue

2004-10-20 by z_flash_ram

I thought I'd catch a little flack for my opinion/take, but when you
have what hardware/software 'I' have, and you make what I make, the
way I make it (using either analog or digital), you would respond like
I did (maybe.)

My "generic opinion" would be something like you just wrote (which is
really no response) or what was mentioned already - figure it out on
your own, (because it's really a personal question/solution.)

With love, I'm done
Chris
