I have been contemplating writing a beginner's manual/tutorial/intro to synthesis. If people on the list are interested, e-mail me with a list of questions you'd want answered or "things you'd like to know" and I'll see what I can pull together. anukirk@...

Some time ago, I mentioned a forthcoming editor for the DSI Evolver, and, while I'm not affiliated with the developer, Psicraft, in any way, I have their permission to share some screenshots. I've been sitting on a few of these since August, so I'm stoked to show them to everyone who's expressed frustration with the current options. This editor is the first in a series of "hardware virtualizers", and I think you'll find them worthy of the name. http://www.vietnambla.com/psicraft/ Here's Psicraft's website: http://www.psicraft.com/ Watch that space! It's still in pre-beta, so I haven't even used the editor, yet, but I have very, very high hopes. Tony and his team have been working hard making this the best editor possible, and they're justifiably proud of it. -- yours, niall. .. . . . . . . . . . aleph null. a simple insinuation around silence. http://syncretism.net .. .. gpg public key - http://www.aleph-null.net/niall.gpg .. ..

Wow at last something that does justice to the semi modular nature of the beast... you can see the routing properly and opens up the sequencer properly (that is the main benifit of an editor IMO, at least that is what i want one for) and its purtty too if only DS would open up the midi CC# controls a little I think this synth, already a classic, will truly be completed Richard

Oooh, this actually look nice. I've never ever seen an editor I like, but this seems promising. /Christian At 23:44 2004-11-16, you wrote:

Would this not be a good solution for externally controlling any
parameter through an external sequencer? Just make the new editor have
a VST/AU/TDM front end availble (just like most VSTi's has a plugin
and standalone)
