sequencer from keyboard

2004-11-04 by dhamaryder

I just tried programming the sequencer from the keyboard for the
first time. sometimes it works perfectly but other times when I
play 16 notes into it it only seems to record the first 8 as if it's an
8 note sequencer. Also, I can see it jumping ahead by 2's as I
put each note in. Anybody know what's going on with it?

This is a more accurate description: as I put each note in from
the keyboard the sequencer skips ahead by two, allowing me
only 8 notes before it gets back to the 1 position. when I start the
sequencer to play back what I have it plays each note twice, even
though I only put each note in once.

OK, I think I figured it out. It must be the midi keyboard I'm using
because I tried it with another one and it works fine. My Nord
Modular must be sending two gate signals for every one that I
press. Who would have thought that?

I had that problem when using the Evolver with cubase & the editor
open at the same time. Took me a few minutes to realize that that I
was sending midi to the Evolver both from a cubase midi track and
the soundtower-editor simultaneously.
