wave generation

wave generation

2004-11-11 by John

Hi gang. Long time lurker here. I have a quick question. Are
there any programs that let you create single-cycle waveforms by
drawing them in with a mouse? Would like to have a program that I
could use for wave generation purposes for both the Evol as well as
my microwave XT. Can't seem to find any thing with this simple
feature. Just wanna draw waveforms and load them into my machines.
Looking for PC really, but mac will do too.

hi!

sound forge lets you draw in the waveform. it's a bit like
exterminating rats with a nuke though, there must be some freeware sw
for that as well.

Why offlist? I'd reckon there are many of us that are interested in this...
What else than SoundForge can do this?

yep. I would be intrested in any specific waveform generation program
too. The best would be that it works already in "127sample-mode",
right? Sofar i was getting good results with additiv generated waves.
Chords, disharmonic or any moving waves are difficult, because
127samplepoints is to short for those.
The Note-frequencies at #F seems to be good for a wave....

phono :]

Well I was told that Sound Tower's editor can do this. They have an
editor for the Microwave XT too that can be used for Wave
generation. But I don't believe sound tower is held in very high
regard around these parts...

hello,

as I've already written 18 months ago (!!!) on forum
http://www.ex5tech.com/ex5ubb_cgi/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=23, in
begining of 2002, my goal was to write a little tool on Windows to
import/draw/calculate waveshapes (I've called it "DAWS" for "Draw A
Waveshape !" veeeeeeeeeery original ;-) )... The project was freezed
until now ... I've start again to work on the projet ...

see snapshot at http://users.skynet.be/fa028238/daws.html

I really hope to put a first version online before end of the year ...

bye

see you soon
