External Input Help...

External Input Help...

2005-01-10 by David

I know I may be overlooking something stupid, but I can't seem to get
any external sounds through to be processed by the Evolver. I turned
up the necessary gains, but still, no sound. What am I doing wrong?
Please help.

Thanks,
dmn

Hmmm. What kind of sound source? I don't believe the Evolver has a
pre-amp, so if your trying to use a microphone, you'll need to run it
through a preamp first. Otherwise, check to make sure that the
Filter is all the way open, and that the External Input gain is up.

If that doesn't work, maybe a few more details on the setup your
using?

External Input Help...

2005-01-10 by Anu Kirk

Off the top of my head, I'd guess the VCA envelope is the culprit. You
need to either hold down a key to apply the envelope or otherwise adjust
the amount/level parameters such that the VCA is "open" to let your
external input through.

I got it to work. It ended up being a setting on my other instrument
that was sending the sound through it's other inputs rather the the
main inputs. Thanks for your help anyways.
