Dave Smith Instruments SYNTHESIZERS

Hi all,
I have considered purchasing a Poly, but have yet to hear one in person. My main interest 
is soft, warm, sounds like the early Roland DCO's created. I guess I am looking for the 
ultimate pad/atmosphere machine, and heard this might be it.

What are all your experiences with this synth. What types of sounds does it excel at? I am 
really  concerned less with all of the modulation paths/capabilites, and more concerned 
with it's tone (oscillators and filters)..

All comments are greatly appreciated.

I would take a look at evolvers distant cousin, the Korg Wavestation.
 IMO wavestation is the heat when it comes to pads and such.  Plus
they are cheap these days.

i would like to add to the list
the kawai k5000 and the yamaha ex5
2 outstanding synths that are going sooo cheap nowdays ..
perfect for evolving/everchanging pads .. plus a lot more
