IMO you need a more professional card to be even close to capturing the 
original sound. I use  hammerfall/MOTU which are the best of the mid range 
cards and have a significantly fuller, warmer, smoother and more detailed 
sound than an SB Live - even then I know that something is lost.... but the 
next price level after the hammerfall would be astronimical... like an 
apogee
