Subject: [Evolver] editor question..

hi, i've bought the (mono) evolver's pc editor, when 'initialising' a
program to build a sound from scratch, i'll set all the osc and amp
envelopes. yes there is sound when i play but it drones constantly and
the amp envelope seems to not stop this.. any idea whichparameter i'm
forgeting to turn on or change?

any help appreciated,
Luke

thanks for the response,
yes all are on, the notes change as i play them from my keyboard,
except they are constantly playing.. like the preset 'drone' sounds..
i imagine there is a function to turn this off but i cant find it..
ive changed 'key off/xpose'.

cheers,
Luke

This surely must be due to the "VCA Level" parameter (row 4, knob 1 on the
Evolver's front panel), which should normally be set to 0; if set to a
non-zero value, it will create a constant drone effect like you're hearing.
[I don't know where that parameter is in the editor software though.]

It might be a slight source of confusion that the Evolver VCA has three
separate "volume like" parameters: (1) VCA Level, which sets the _minimum_
VCA level, (2) VCA Env Amt, which determines how much the VCA envelope
effects the volume, and (3) VCA Volume, which scales the output level.
I think normally the "VCA Level" and "Env Amt" parameters are set to 0 and
100 respectively, and "VCA Volume" used to control the output level.
There's also a global volume parameter, so you're definitely not at a loss
for control over the Evolver's output level... :-)

but this sounds right!

Luke
